Absolute waste of time and resources on Windows. Avoid.
I regret every second I spent configuring this. Karakeep might work for Linux sysadmins, but for a standard Windows user, it is utter garbage.
The dependency on Docker and WSL2 for a "read-it-later" app is ridiculous. It’s bloated, resource-heavy, and completely unnecessary. Why spin up a headless browser container just to save a link? It’s like killing a fly with a bazooka.
Worse yet, the networking is broken. If you use a proxy/VPN, good luck. You'll be fighting with config files for hours only to get "Failed to fetch" errors on basic websites.
I’m uninstalling Docker, WSL, and deleting everything related to this project. It’s an over-complicated solution to a simple problem. Save your sanity and use something else.

I had over 6k bookmarks. And karakeep makes them all look nice and easy to search. It's amazing. Especially this extension, it integrates the bookmarking process seamlessly in firefox, like how I'd done it thousand times before karakeep exists. Great for hoarders like me.

I have tested hundreds of Firefox-and-Chromium-aimed browser extensions in my life, but this one almost made me drop a tear of joy! I have been waiting for such an app for 15 years!

Love this. Having tags, archived pages and full text indexing of bookmarks all private is lovely.
